A protest will take place in North Dublin this afternoon by residents of Priory Hall, the apartment complex evacuated last October over fire safety concerns.
More than 250 residents are still being temporarily housed by Dublin City Council in hotels and other properties pending repair works to the apartments.
Next Thursday, the council is due to submit an application to the Supreme Court, seeking to stop paying for their ongoing accommodation costs.
Spokesperson for the Priory Hall residents Niall O'Reilly said they are afraid they could be left liable for their own rental costs, on top of mortgage repayments.
"We don't actually know if a ruling will be made," he said.
"But nevertheless, what it means is that we both have to pay for a mortgage of a place we can't live in, in Priory Hall, and pay rent somewhere.
"And that's just unacceptable.
"People at Priory Hall are nervous," he added. "We're at the edge of our seats because we just don't know what's going to happen at this stage."
