Alan Murphy scored for the third time in four games as Derry continued their revival with another big win.

Murphy had brought a good stop from Noel Mooney in the first half, but made no mistake from the penalty spot on the hour after Keith O’Halloran had handled a cross from Gareth McGlynn.

The only sour note for Derry was the 85th minute sending-off of Eamon Doherty for a second booking.

Rovers then almost snatched a point late on, but Trevor Molloy hit a post and Shane Robinson missed a sitter.
