The long awaited St Patrick’s Day parade in Dublin will take place tomorrow afternoon and is set to be the highlight of this weekend’s festival.

This year’s theme for the parade is ‘fusion’ with eleven street theatre groups and fourteen bands taking part in the event.

The festival, which was postponed due to the foot and mouth outbreak, has attracted thousands of tourists to the capital city.

Today’s events are set to culminate in the biggest fireworks display in the world, which will be accompanied by a specially recorded sound track.
