A Pakistani driver who was taken hostage by insurgents in Iraq has been freed, Pakistan’s information minister said.

A Pakistani driver who was taken hostage by insurgents in Iraq has been freed, Pakistan’s information minister said.

Sheikh Rashid Ahmed said that Amjad Hafeez had contacted his family in Pakistan to tell them that he was safe, and already in Kuwait.

“It is good news, and we welcome his release,” the information minister said in Islamabad.
