It is understood that the report into the death of newborn baby Bronagh Livingstone in Co Monaghan in December of last year has been given to Health Minister Micheál Martin.

Bronagh, who was born prematurely, died en route to Cavan General Hospital after her mother was transferred from Monaghan Hospital because there were no maternity facilities there.

The former secretary of the Department of Enterprise, Kevin Bonner, conducted the report into the handling of the incident.

Bronagh's grandfather, Jimmy Livingstone, said tonight that Mr Bonner told him the report has been handed to the Minister, and he will be seeking a copy of it after the weekend.
