Dublin 3-10, Clare 3-17 (full-time)

Dublin dual star Conal Keaney hit a three-goal blast at Parnell Park as Dublin lost out narrowly to Cyril Lyons' Clare in Division 1A of the National Hurling League.

Trailing 2-10 to 1-03 at the break, it looked like Dublin's number was up, but a spirited second-half fightback saw them push the All-Ireland finalists right to the wire.

Dublin, with Keaney in outstanding form, actually outscored Clare 2-07 to 1-07 in the second period.

However, a couple of lucky breaks for Clare, including a Niall Gilligan goal on 58 minutes, that somehow sneaked into the net, eventually sealed the win for the Bannermen, with Seanie McMahon, Gilligan and Barry Murphy all in top form.
