A garda, described as "the most experienced member of the Garda traffic corps in Limerick", has today been found guilty of driving with no tax.

A garda, described as "the most experienced member of the Garda traffic corps in Limerick", has today been found guilty of driving with no tax.

Garda Michael O'Shaughnessy of Kilternan Close in Croagh, Co Limerick pleaded not guilty to the charge at Limerick District Court today.

He was also found guilty of driving without a valid NCT certificate.

Garda O'Shaughnessy was ordered by the court to pay €3,500 to St Vincent de Paul.
