Five Greek teenagers were convicted today of killing an 11-year-old boy and dumping his body which has never been found.

All, aged either 14 or 15, said Alex Mechisvili died after falling down a flight of stairs. They hid the body on a building site then later threw it in a river.

Despite an extensive search in the northern Greek city of Veroia, the body was not found.

A juvenile court on found the five guilty of involuntary homicide and causing insult to a dead body.

Three were ordered to serve in a juvenile prison until they turn 18, while the others were placed under mandatory supervision programs.
