Revenue officers at Dublin Airport have seized around €144,000 worth of herbal cannabis.

Revenue officers at Dublin Airport have seized around €144,000 worth of herbal cannabis.

They made the seizure on Sunday when they stopped and searched a passenger who had arrived on a flight from Alicante.

The officers found 7.2kg of herbal cannabis in the checked-in baggage of the passenger.

A 31-year-old Bulgarian man was arrested and appeared before Judge Brian Smyth in the Dublin District Court yesterday morning.

He was remanded in custody to Cloverhill Prison until Friday when he will be brought before the court again.
