The Rolling Stones have postponed two concerts in Hong Kong because of a mystery illness outbreak in the territory, dubbed "Asian flu".

The spread of severe acute respiratory syndrome, or SARS - which has killed 10 and made hundreds in Hong Kong ill - prompted the Stones to put back concerts originally scheduled for tomorrow and Saturday

"Increases in the number of cases of SARS in Hong Kong and Southern China and continued concern over large gatherings have created apprehension among fans and concern for their safety," a statement from the band said.

No dates have been announced for rescheduled shows.

Earlier, veteran American singer Andy Williams said he would delay a Hong Kong concert from April to June because of the SARS outbreak.
