They will be based in the port of Mombasa.

Western warships have already been on anti-terror patrols in the region to ensure senior terror leaders do not slip into Somalia.

Kenya shares a long border with Somalia.

The Muslim country has effectively been without a government since the start of a civil war in 1991.
