A Portuguese police chief has been suspended after sending a Christmas email wishing staff "good sex".

Euclides Santos, police chief in the central Portuguese city of Coimbra, sent an X-rated power point presentation, which wished staff "incredible sexual relations", to all municipal staff instead of a festive email.

One slide in the presentation – which featured scantily clad women - read: "Enough with insincere and useless words. What I wish you from the bottom of my heart, is that you have incredible sexual relations, live a merry and happy life, work hard and get well paid."
