Pete Doherty's lawyer has confirmed that the singer is attending a rehabilitation clinic in Portugal and that his treatment was "going well".
Sean Curran spoke at a court hearing to review the Babyshambles star's progress in tackling his drug addiction. He also said the singer was expected to return to Britain tomorrow.
Mr Curran said the troubled star was still "striving towards" negative drugs tests and added there were "valid reasons" why he was unable to attend the hearing at Thames Magistrates Court in east London.
The Babyshambles star's previous attempts at rehabilitation have all ended in failure.
He had unsuccessful bids at detoxing in The Priory in west London and at a clinic in France. His third attempt was in Thailand, in a clinic regarded as a "last-chance saloon" for hardened drug addicts.
However, he was unable to cope with the harsh regime and left after three days.
