Garda forensic experts are examining the scene of a suspicious fire at flat in Dublin's north inner city last night.

Garda forensic experts are examining the scene of a suspicious fire at flat in Dublin's north inner city last night.

The alarm was raised shortly before 8pm, when smoke was seen billowing from the flat in Gardiner Place, just off Mountjoy Square.

According to Gardai, the premises was undergoing renovations.

The scene of the fire has been sealed off for technical examination and an investigation is underway.
