Police sergeant accused of wearing t-shirt with swastika motif to work

A British police sergeant was investigated over allegedly wearing a T-shirt with a swastika motif to work.

The allegation about the Nazi-style clothing was made against an Essex Police officer by a colleague.

The sergeant, who has not been identified, has since retired, Essex Police said.

In a statement it confirmed the allegation was dismissed, although the sergeant was subject to "management action" in relation to another matter.

The statement read: "Among the allegations was that an Essex Police sergeant wore a swastika T-shirt to the workplace.

"Police fully investigated these matters and found no case to answer in respect of the allegations.

"The sergeant in question was subject to management action in relation to an unrelated matter and has since retired from Essex Police."
