The Minister for Foreign Affairs says the challenges posed by the past cannot continue to be left unaddressed.
Charlie Flanagan is in Belfast today for meetings with Stormont Ministers and the Secretary of State with Legacy issues topping the agenda.
An ongoing dispute means funding isn't being released for legacy inquests into killings during the Troubles.
Minister Flanagan says he's pushing for movement on the issue:
"It beholds both governments and the Executive to ensure that we stretch ourselves to finding an accommodation in this issue.
"I do believe that we cannot continue to stall this matter."
