Workplace deaths up 15% on 2010

Fifty-five people died in the workplace last year, an increase of 15% on 2010's figures, it has been revealed.

Some 22 people working in the agriculture sector were killed during the year, down from 25 the previous year.

The Health and Safety Authority (HSA) has launched an awareness campaign aimed at encouraging farmers to stop taking risks.
