Cork City road reopens after crash injures four gardaí

The South Link Road in Cork City has re-opened this afternoon, after it was closed for this morning due to a serious car crash in which four gardaí were injured.

The South Link Road in Cork City has re-opened this afternoon, after it was closed for this morning due to a serious car crash in which four gardaí were injured.

Two garda patrol cars collided on the junction of Boreenmana Road at around 1.30am today.

Four officers in their 20s and 30swere taken to Cork University Hospital, but their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

The Office of the Garda Ombudsman has been informed about the crash.
