Police in the North are appealing for witnesses after a woman suffered a serious assault in Co. Down.

Police in the North are appealing for witnesses after a woman suffered a serious assault in Co. Down.

The incident happened at Ashbury Crescent in Bangor, shortly after 12.30am this morning.

The woman in her 50s suffered severe facial and head injuries, including a suspected fractured skull.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact them.
