Body of bomb victim arrives in Cork

The remains of the Waterford girl, Tara Whelan, who was killed in the bomb attack in Turkey on Saturday have been taken to Cork University Hospital.

The remains of the Waterford girl, Tara Whelan, who was killed in the bomb attack in Turkey on Saturday have been taken to Cork University Hospital.

The plane carrying the remains landed at Cork Airport this evening.

A post mortem examination ot the body will take place later.

Her remains are due to be brought to her family home in Kilmeadan this evening ahead of her funeral in the area on Wednesday.

President Mary McAleese has sent her condolences to the teenager’s family.

The bombing, which killed five people in the resort of Kusadasi, has been blamed on Kurdish seperatists.
