Gardaí have raided a number houses in the Co Cork village of Rathcormac following the death of a local teenager yesterday.

Forty detectives searched six homes this morning under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

The raids were mounted as gardaí await the results of toxicology tests on 19-year-old Padraig O'Keeffe, whose body was found on a roadside near Rathcormac yesterday.

A post mortem examination has concluded that he was not the victim of an assault or a hit-and-run.

Gardaí are now awaiting the results of toxicology tests which they believe will reveal the cause of his death.

The teenager is believed to have been at a house party in Rathcormac prior to his death.

Gardaí have sealed off a house in the area, declaring it a crime scene, while a number of other homes were raided in the village this morning in connection with the investigation, but no arrests were made.
