The Cabinet has approved the drafting of legislation to provide the Garda associations with access to State industrial relations institutions.

The Cabinet has approved the drafting of legislation to provide the Garda associations with access to State industrial relations institutions.

It follow the decision given as part of the resolution of the recent Garda pay dispute.

It will give the GRA and AGSI access to the Workplace Relations Commission and Labour Court.

Tánaiste and Minister for Justice Frances Fitzgerald said that the Government is committed to giving the Garda associations statutory access to the industrial relations institutions.
