Vodafone reports 19% rise in global revenues

The mobile phone firm Vodafone has reported a 19% rise in its global revenues to €12bn for the first quarter of 2008.

The mobile phone firm Vodafone has reported a 19% rise in its global revenues to €12bn for the first quarter of 2008.

The company says its average revenue per user in Ireland fell to €41 in the June quarter, down from €45 for the same period last year last year.

Customer numbers rose by 8.5 million globally and now stand at 269 million.

Total voice minutes for the quarter rose by 229 to 1,719 and messaging revenue increased by just over 2%.

Vodafone is, however, revising downwards its outlook for full-year revenue due to recent economic weakness.
