A teenager who was sentenced last year for possession of €32,000 of cocaine has received a further four-year sentence at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court for storing €29,000 of heroin at his family home while on bail.

Stephen Bollard (aged 18) was found to be storing the heroin four days before he was to be sentenced for possession of the cocaine. Bollard, who was 15 years old when he was caught with the cocaine and 17 when the heroin was found, claimed he was storing the drugs under threat of being "shot in the head."

Bollard, of Millbrook Avenue, Kilbarrack, pleaded guilty to possession of the drugs at his home on March 27, 2008.

Judge Katherine Delahunt imposed four years detention, consecutive to his current sentence, and suspended the final two years on strict conditions. She noted his young age, early guilty plea and genuine fears for his safety.
