Survey reveals pay gap between public and private sector

Public sector workers are paid 44% more than private sector workers, according to a new survey in the Sunday Independent.

Public sector workers are paid 44% more than private sector workers, according to a new survey in the Sunday Independent.

The Indecon report for the newspapert reveals that the average weekly pay in the public sector has risen by 3% since 2007.

However, private sector pay has dropped by 6% in the same period.

Almost a quarter of private sector workers now only have a part-time job.
