Ireland to escape much of UK storm

Ireland is expected to escape the worst of the stormy weather hitting the UK.

Wales and parts of England are due to be hit by what is being described as a "significant storm" later tonight, with winds of up to 80 miles per hour in some areas.

Although Ireland will see some strong winds and heavy showers, conditions are not expected to be as bad as those affecting our neighbour.
