The funeral of Marie Greene will take place later this week.

The funeral of Marie Greene will take place later this week.

The remains of the 37-year-old were discovered in bogland just outside of Athlone yesterday, after more than a week of searching for the missing woman.

Post mortem results on the body are expected to show she died from stab wounds.

Sixty-two-year-old Jimmy Devaney from Millbrook Avenue, Monksland, Athlone has been charged with the murder at Tullycross, Moydrum on February 13.

Marie's body was released to her family this morning,

Her body will be removed from her residence at St. Mel's Terrace at 7.45pm tomorrow to arrive at St Mary's Church for 8pm.

Marie will be laid to rest in Cornamagh Cemetery after 10.30am Mass.
