Man shot in Co Antrim 'punishment attack'

Police in the North have arrested a man in connection with a paramilitary-style punishment attack in Carrickfergus, Co Antrim, this afternoon.

Police in the North have arrested a man in connection with a paramilitary-style punishment attack in Carrickfergus, Co Antrim, this afternoon.

The 24-year-old victim was dragged into a lorry and shot by an unknown number of attackers. He is currently recovering in hospital.

Meanwhile, a 23-year-old man is being treated for serious neck injuries after being attacked by four men outside a nightclub in Belfast’s University Street early this morning.
