McDonald's enjoys huge popularity around the globe for its fast food, but one man in England was not happy with the franchise recently.
Byron Thomas was taking his 13-year-old stepdaughter, Katie, for a treat at McDonald's in Northampton but, as Byron explains in the video (scroll to bottom of article), their experience wasn't the best, to put it mildly.
The staff got their order wrong in their initial attempt, so Mr Thomas was given two free McFlurries to compensate.
They then got his order wrong a second time.
Byron and Katie waited patiently for them to get it right on their third try and were relieved to get what they ordered - and to be given it for free.
However, things got worse when Byron bit into his quarter pounder.
Mr Thomas said: "I spat out what was in my mouth straight away, it was absolutely disgusting."
He complained to the branch manager who, Byron claims, "wasn't really bothered" and offered to cook him another one.
Byron suffers from Ulcerative Colitis so his stomach has been in bits since the incident. He also works as a health and safety trainer on railways and so knows exactly just how bad this situation is for McDonald's.
He said: "I was up being sick at 4am the next morning and I am still being ill on and off now.
"We only pop to McDonald’s for a treat every now and then but there is no way me or any of my friends or family will ever be going there again."
Byron has complained to McDonald’s head office and says he will contact his local environmental health officer.
A McDonald’s spokesman said: "Food safety is our highest priority. We place great emphasis on quality control and follow rigorous standards in order to avoid any imperfections in our food.
"We are disappointed to hear of this experience and as soon as we were made aware of the incident, we launched a full investigation. We will be in touch with Mr Thomas once this is complete."
