A woman has died after she was involved in a four-car collision in Co Galway.

A woman has died after she was involved in a four-car collision in Co Galway.

It happened on the N17 at Claretuam, Tuam, Co Galway at about 4.45pm this afternoon.

The woman, who is believed to have been in her late 60s or 70s, was fatally injured in the crash.

A number of other people received minor injuries.

The road at the scene is closed to a facilitate a forensic collision examination of the area.
