Labour continues weekly protests at Mater Hospital

The Labour party continues its weekly protest later today at the Mater Hospital to highlight the on-going crisis in the health service.

The Labour party continues its weekly protest later today at the Mater Hospital to highlight the on-going crisis in the health service.

The party claims that not one day has passed in the last year in which very ill people were not waiting for a bed on trollies or chairs.

Deputy Joe Costello claims the situation is getting worse, despite assurances to the contrary from the Tánaiste and Minister for Health

“Minister Harney had indicated seven months ago, when she became Minister, that the matter would be significantly improved by March.

“In fact, the situation has deteriorated every month since January, so no wonder the nurses are in a state of frustration”, he said.
