Hundreds are expected to protest in Dublin city at lunchtime regarding proposals to tax child benefit.

Hundreds are expected to protest in Dublin city at lunchtime regarding proposals to tax child benefit.

The march which will begin on Parnell square and is being organised by the Protest Against Child Unfriendly Budget (PACUB) and the Alliance Against Cuts groups.

They said that the abolition of the early childcare supplement and new proposals to tax child benefit will leave families struggling to cope.

More than 6,300 people have signed an online petition against the cuts.

Others have been submitting written protests with over 4,000 people joining PACUB's Facebook page.
