Ndah gives Wolves interval lead

George Ndah’s love affair with the FA Cup continued as he gave Wolves a half-time lead in their fifth-round clash with Third Division Rochdale at Molineux.

Ndah, on target in the wins over Newcastle and Leicester, broke the deadlock after 32 minutes of an opening half dominated by Dave Jones’ side.

Ince was seeing a lot of the ball in midfield and he was only just off target with a dipping effort from outside the area.

The home side then had appeals for a penalty rejected by referee Uriah Rennie after a challenge on George Ndah, with his back to goal, by Wayne Evans.

Wolves needed a goal to capitalise on their territorial dominance and Ince clenched his fist in frustration after dragging another shot across the face of goal.

Simon Grand became the first player to be yellow carded at the half hour mark for a lunge at Ndah – and then two minutes later the Wolves player broke the deadlock.

Wolves had appealed in vain for a penalty when Gareth Griffiths blocked a cross from Shaun Newton which went out for a corner.

But the resulting cross from Kennedy led to the goal with Ince miskicking but Ndah behind him to turn home from six yards.

It continued his record of having scored in every round of the FA Cup and was his fifth in his last five starts.

Former Aston Villa midfielder Gavin Melaugh became the second Rochdale player to be booked after 41 minutes for hauling down Cameron in full flight.

Gilks clung onto a glancing header from Paul Butler following a flick-on from Joleon Lescott a minute before the interval.
