The band flew into Sydney from Dublin before heading to the Gold Coast in a private jet to prepare for the tour which opens in Brisbane on Monday night.
The band's legion of Australian fans have been holding their Vertigo tour tickets since March, when U2 suddenly postponed the concerts to allow The Edge to be with his family as a relative battled a serious illness.
Meanwhile, negotiations continue for Bono to make a guest appearance at the inaugural make Poverty History concert in Melbourne on November 17th.
