Opponents of the Lisbon Treaty have reacted angrily to the news that a deal has been reached in Brussels to pave the way for a second referendum on the Treaty.
Sinn Féin MEP Mary Lou McDonald has not ruled out taking legal action to prevent a poll going ahead.
The party would use "every means and mechanism available to ensure that democracy was upheld and the rights of Irish people on this matter was fully respected", according to the MEP.
