Louth stabbing: Post mortem being carried out

A post mortem is being carried out on the body of a man stabbed to death earlier today in Co Louth.

A post mortem is being carried out on the body of a man stabbed to death earlier today in Co Louth.

State Pathologist Dr John Harbison is conducting the post mortem.

The man, in his early thirties, was found in the hallway of a house in Dundalk earlier today.

He had been stabbed in the chest and was pronounced dead at the scene.

A woman who was also in the house had sustained wounds to the neck. She is being cared for in Louth general hospital. Her injuries are not though to be serious.

The house remains sealed off for technical examination.
