The High Court will rule at 2pm today in the Contempt of Court case being taken against independent TD Liam Lawlor.
The court was originally scheduled to deliver a judgement this morning but this was put back until 2:00 this afternoon due to unforeseen circumstances.
Mr Lawlor could face a term in jail if Justice Smyth finds that he intentionally breached a court order of October last.
Justice Thomas Smyth has spent the weekend studying presentations in this case.
The court was told that Liam Lawlor refused to answer questions last month before Justice Fergus Flood at the Planning Tribunal, relating to his business affairs and credit card details.
Mr Lawlor's lawyers claimed in court that questions about refrigeration companies and business deals in Prague had nothing to do with planning in Dublin.
John Rogers, SC, who is acting for Deputy Lawlor said that his client had misinterpreted the court order of last August.
Justice Smyth will decide today if Liam Lawlor did show contempt for that court order. If he does find against the TD, Mr Lawlor could face a term in jail, a suspended sentence, a heavy fine or a severe reprimand.
