Football and hurling Players of the Month named
Wicklow footballer Tony Hannon and Waterford hurler Michael ‘Brick’ Walsh have been named as the Vodafone GAA Players of the Month for July.
Hannon kept his cool to send over a ‘45’ with the last kick of the game to continue the Garden County’s dream run with a one-point win over Down last month.
Brick Walsh is the second Waterford man to win a hurler of the month award after John Mullane was honoured earlier in the season.
The Deise defender was outstanding against Tipperary in the Munster Hurling Final, particularly in the second half.
