Sharon Osbourne admits she’s an “absolute bl**dy nutter”.

The reality TV star –wife of rocker Ozzy Osbourne - is known for her outspoken views and opinions and though she admits she can sometimes cross the line, she refuses to adjust her behaviour.

She said: “I don’t play by the rules and I’ve got into trouble because of that, but I can’t help it. Life is too short to pretend to be something you’re not. I am what I am: a loose cannon and an absolute bl**dy nutter, but basically I'm a good person and if I'm your friend, I'm your friend for life.

“People think that you have to play the game to continue to work and sometimes I don’t want to play the game to continue to work, and sometimes I don’t want to play the game. Of course, I do say things occasionally and then think, ‘Oh s**t, why did I have to say that?’ ”

Last year, Sharon, 57, caused huge controversy when she described Scottish singing sensation Susan Boyle as having been “hit by the ugly stick”, and although she still stands by her comments, she regrets making them public.

She said: "I didn't want to hurt her at all. Yes, I do think she looks like a slapped a**e, and she has been hit with the ugly stick, but she's laughing all the way to the bank, so she's got the last laugh on me. I do regret saying that because she is not the sort of woman to counter me, so it's not fair, but somebody asked me in public and I went for it – foot in mouth."
