Belfast Harlequins fullback Jonny Lowe scored the only try at Lansdowne Road, as Belfast Harlequins picked off their fifth straight win, beating the hosts 13-9.

Incredibly it was 'Quins' fourth consecutive match without conceding a try and a testament to the Antrim side's drive for the AIB League Division One crown, after losing in the semi-finals last season.

In a week when coach Andre Bester announced his departure from 'Quins' for Rotherham at the end of the season, Lowe's first half charge through and two second half penalties from WP Strauss sees the Belfast men just two points behind leaders Shannon.

Two early penalties from Andy Tallon saw Lansdowne still in with a shout at 7-6 down at the break. Lowe's score arrived on 23 minutes as he timed his midfield run brilliantly to run straight through Lansdowne's centre and under the posts from 20 metres out.

Ian Humphreys converted and with South African Strauss taking over the kicking duties in the second half, and Lansdowne losing prop Enda Bohan to the sin-bin, 'Quins' victory was never in doubt.

Scorers: Lansdowne: Pens: Andy Tallon 3

Harlequins: Try: Jonny Lowe; Con: Ian Humphreys; Pens: WP Strauss 2
