Michael O’Neill has been appointed general manager at Cork racecourse.
Previously the track’s racing and commercial manager, O’Neill succeeds the retiring Michael Lane.
O’Neill, who takes up the position in January, said: “I am delighted to be given this opportunity to take over the reins of such a successful enterprise.
“My role will be to continue to work closely with the board and staff and to continue to make the racecourse more and more successful in the years to come.”
Chairman Denis Cronin said: “I am delighted to welcome Michael’s promotion to general manager at Cork, which is one of the most modern racecourse facilities in the country. I am sure that under his guidance it will continue to grow and develop.
“I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge Michael Lane’s unique contribution to what has been created at Cork racecourse and to wish him a very happy retirement.”
