Tottenham have agreed to sell Welsh midfielder Simon Davies to Everton for a fee of up to £4m.

The deal has been agreed and providing he agrees personal terms, the former Peterborough winger will play Champions League football at Goodison Park next season.

Tottenham sporting director Frank Arnesen told the club’s website, www.spurs.co.uk: “Simon has given this club great service but he was ready for a new challenge and we wish him all the best.”

Davies moved to White Hart Lane in 2000 and has made 154 appearances for the club, scoring 24 goals.
