Dowling wants to present 'Big Brother'

The second-ever winner of 'Big Brother' Brian Dowling - which officially ended after he won 'Ultimate Big Brother' on Friday night - has been linked to a role replacing Davina McCall if channel five buy the rights to the programme and would be delighted to accept the job.

The second-ever winner of 'Big Brother' Brian Dowling - which officially ended after he won 'Ultimate Big Brother' on Friday night - has been linked to a role replacing Davina McCall if channel five buy the rights to the programme and would be delighted to accept the job.

He told BANG Showbiz: "I've heard again today that apparently I'm hosting it if it moves channels but I only know that the house is staying where it is. Of course I'd be interested.

"It would be hard to step into Davina's shoes but if they want to give me that chance why would I say no? I'll probably screw it up but at least I tried."

Brian also admitted he thinks ex-husband and wife Chantelle Houghton and Preston - who were thrown together for the first time since their 2007 divorce in the 'Ultimate Big Brother' house - need some time apart to focus on what they really want.

Speaking at the gala premiere of 'The Other Guys' at Vue Leicester Square, he said: "Preston was there at the wrap party, very, very drunk. Chantelle was not there. I just think they need some space, separation.

"We've all been there in a relationship, and obviously they are playing it out on TV. I think they're very brave to have done it and hopefully everything will be ok."
