192 countries mark No Tobacco Day

Today is World No Tobacco Day.

Today is World No Tobacco Day.

Smokers in the 192 member countries of the World Health Organisation are being urged to kick the habit.

The WHO's first international treaty, the framework convention on tobacco control, was unanimously adopted in time to celebrate World No Tobacco Day.

It requires countries to impose restrictions on advertising, sponsorship and promotion with new warnings on packages and tough controls on indoor smoking.
