'Anthrax scare' package declared safe

The suspect package which caused the anthrax scare on the island of Inisturk yesterday has been categorised as being of no risk, according to gardai in Westport.

A suspicious white powder was seen leaking from the package which had a north London postmark.

The island’s post office was closed and forensic tests were carried out. Inisturk has a population of 91.
