SIPTU and Aer Lingus management are due to hold talks at Dublin Airport this morning in an effort to avert planned strike action at the national airline tomorrow.

The union's members at Aer Lingus are planning to hold an hour-long work stoppage tomorrow morning as part of their opposition to the planned privatisation of the airline.

SIPTU says it has major concerns about the pay, pensions, job security and working conditions following the sale of the company, which is due to take place later this year.

The union has threatened to engage in all-out strike action if its concerns are not addressed before the sell-off.
