Piper and Evans 'split after 40 days'

Chris Evans and Billie Piper have reportedly split up after just 40 days.

Chris Evans and Billie Piper have reportedly split up after just 40 days.

It is reported that the DJ has lost interest in the 18-year-old singer.

According to close friends, Piper is devastated and they are said to be concerned about her mental state.

Evans had splashed out £105,000 on a Ferrari for the teenage pop star and friends of Piper's say she was looking forward to spending the weekend with Mr Evans.

David Pitman, a spokesman for Piper said it is a private matter and she wants to be left alone.

The couple began dating last month after Evans became "instantly besotted" by Piper when she arrived at Virgin Radio to promote her new single. Within days he had bought her the sports car, and is also reported to have bought her a home in North London.

The pair are reported to have then spent a romantic break in Madeira and spent Christmas at Evans' Surrey estate.

A close friend of Billie's is quoted as telling the Sunday Express: "She went home in floods of tears last Friday because Chris wasn't answering her calls."
