Arsenal striker Dennis Bergkamp has denied that he is about to quit Highbury to sign for Tottenham and has also rubbished reports that he is unhappy with the signing of Francis Jeffers from Everton.
Bergkamp has two years left on his current contract and has no intentions of leaving the Gunners.
‘‘I have two years left on my contract with Arsenal and I’m looking forward to the challenges that lie ahead during those two years,’’ Bergkamp said.
‘‘I’m still on holiday but I’m aware that there’s a certain amount of speculation about my future,’’ added Bergkamp.
‘‘There have been reports that I’m supposedly ‘furious’ with the signing of Francis Jeffers, and that I see his arrival as ‘the final straw’.
"‘I don’t know where these reports have come from and they have no basis in truth at all. I’ve even been linked with a move to Tottenham in some newspapers. Again, it’s all news to me!
‘‘All I can say is that I’m really excited about the season ahead.’’
