It relies on the hordes of Munster supporters who are sure to turn up in their thousands.
Coach Declan Kidney reacted: "I'm delighted first of all that a venue has been confirmed because it means we can go ahead and finalise our arrangements to travel.
"The venue itself seems like a good rugby decision and full credit to Wasps for that."
It will allow Wasps to benefit from the increased 32,000 capacity, vastly improved from the 10,000 normally taken in at Adams Park.
Wasps Director of Rugby Ian McGeechan said: "This has the potential to be a very special game, and I am delighted that we are returning to the Ricoh Arena," he said.
"I'm looking forward to returning and I hope, with the increased capacity, Wasps supporters will come along in numbers to see us begin the defence of our European crown."
