Gardaí in Cork have arrested a man for questioning about an arson attack in the city last year.

May O'Gorman, 87, was rescued from her home on Blarney Street by two gardaí after they responded to an emergency call on December 13.

The pensioner and the gardaí were hospitalised and treated for smoke inhalation.

This morning, gardaí from Gurranabraher arrested a man in his 20s in connection with the incident.
